  • YVR ✈ Geneva → Savona → Bourg-St-Maurice

Mark and I are currently in a hotel high above Bourg-St-Maurice France. It has been an awesome few days, we landed in Geneva, quickly grabbed our rental car and headed south on the Autostrada to Genoa Italy. It is a pretty wild city, with so many layers and so many scooters. Driving was hectic, as was trying to find a public washroom. Instead of staying in Genoa, we headed south along the Mediterranean to Savona. We found possibly the last hotel room after checking many hotels late into the evening. Best Western, coming through in the clutch. The coast was beautiful, amazing beaches and an amazing sea. We hit the beach yesterday morning, and then we headed to Bourg-St-Maurice in France.

I have been here before, on a French exchange in grade 10, so it was neat to come back. On the way here, the Autostrada was closed, so we had to take a back route through the Alps in which we climbed up and over the mountains, the roads were very very scenic but very exposed, with many steep drop offs on either side. We climbed all way through the clouds until we breached through them at Lac do Mont Cenis, where there was a massive damn that seemed to hold back the clouds. We drove through many more climbs and descents and finally ended up in Seez at a hotel high above Bourg-St-Maurice.
