Yesterday we arrived at Jamies for his Upsidedown and Underground contest. We rode practice on about two hours of sleep and it ended up being such a rad day, albeit tiring. The first image is of Eric Lawrenuk. Jordie did a 3 flip for the first time in 5 years in best trick, and Anthony [...]
Roadtrip season is underway with Jordie Lunn, Eric Lawrenuk, Reece Wallace and myself heading to Bend Oregon for Jamie Goldman’s UpsideDown and UnderGround contest.
That black dot between the freighters and the birds is Jordie going for a swim on a nice gray day. This is from the day that we filmed the day in the life video last year.
My friends and I use to ride the Parkgate Skatepark quite a bit. There were always lots of characters at the park, one of these was James. He was pretty loose when it came to riding, whether it was his 16″ bmx or scooter. He was appropriately nicknamed “lil bronco” by Fraser. Fast forward a [...]
I wanted to be out racing, but my foot was much too sore, so I sat in a lawn chair and watch the action. I snapped a couple pics from my perch. My buddy Harold took the win against some moto dude who was sending a pretty gnarly quad near the bottom. Enjoy.
Ryan ended up second! It was a pretty rad weekend all around, 20 degrees and sunny. I hurt my foot and had to skip out on the slalom, but I was lucky that it felt good enough to give it a go on Sunday. I am now back in the shitty weather that Vancouver can’t [...]
On one of my first mountain bike road trips ever Harookz shot this of me. Kamloops is littered with rad hits like this.
I’m up in Kamloops for the first BC cup of the season. Sunsets are always super rad up here. Anways, there is a Dual Slalom race tomorrow night, I cant wait.
Mountain bike trail names are an interesting topic, the North Shore is a good example of this with Cypress, Fromme and Mount Seymour criss-crossed with such gems as “Ned’s Atomic Dustbin”, “Sex Boy”, “Pink Starfish” and a personal favourite of mine; “Bitches Brew.” None though, evoke more horrific mental images then “Severed Dick”. The north shore classic is a staple of any adventure on Mt. Seymour. The trail has evolved from what I am sure was a loamy single track through the forest long before I was born, to its present day state, in which portions of the trail are rutted deep into the hillside.
My first encounter with “Severed Dick” was twelve years ago.
